How It Works
From your first inquiry to your child's first sentence, we guide you every step of the way.
Your Child's Learning Journey
Our simple 4-step onboarding process to ensure a successful start.
Step 1: Get in Touch
Reach out by email, phone, or WhatsApp. Share your child's age, current language exposure (e.g., heritage speakers vs. complete beginners), and what language stream (Cantonese or Mandarin) you want to explore.
Step 2: Friendly Matching Consultation
Our educational advisor will review your schedule, interests (does your child like animals, space, or drawing?), and goals. We use this information to select a teacher from our team who fits your child's learning pace and personality.
Step 3: Arrange Your First Lesson
Book a convenient time for your child's first 25-minute lesson. The teacher will lead a fun, low-pressure introductory session with interactive games to assess your child's current speaking and comprehension level.
Step 4: Continue Learning
After the first class, we provide a progress report and recommend a class frequency (usually 1β2 times per week). Continue lessons with the same dedicated teacher to build familiarity, trust, and speaking momentum.
π₯οΈ What to Prepare
You don't need expensive gear. Just ensure the following basic setups are ready before the first lesson:
- A Stable Device: A laptop, desktop, or iPad/tablet with a working front-facing webcam.
- Good Internet Connection: A reliable broadband connection suitable for video calling.
- Meeting Access: Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams, depending on the platform agreed with your teacher.
- A Quiet Space: A distraction-free learning corner where your child can comfortably speak aloud.
- Parent Support (for Age 5-6): We recommend a parent sit nearby during the first 1-2 lessons to help with tech adjustment.
β What to Expect in the First Lesson
Our first lessons are designed to build confidence and rapport, not to test. Here is what we do in the 25-minute session:
- Warm-Up (5 min): Friendly greetings, picking an interactive animal avatar, and building rapport.
- Mini-Lesson (15 min): Play-based vocabulary matching, colors, repeating simple phrases with puppets.
- Level Assessment (5 min): Observation of response speed, tone imitation, and active vocabulary range.
- Post-Class Feedback: Within 24 hours, you'll receive a summary of your child's strengths and goals.
How We Match Tutors
We believe that standard matching based on schedule alone isn't enough for young kids. We analyze three core dimensions:
Interest Matching
If your child loves dinosaurs, we pair them with teachers who integrate dinosaur-themed vocabulary and games into the lessons.
Accent & Heritage Goals
Whether you want a standard Beijing Mandarin accent, traditional characters, or heritage colloquial Hong Kong Cantonese, we target the precise profile.
Personality Alignment
Shy children are matched with quiet, encouraging, and patient teachers. Active kids are matched with high-energy, performative teachers.
